Low-Vision Services
People who have lost eyesight due to injuries or eye disease need special types of products to help them function as independently as possible.
We offer a full range of these products through our office, and you can come in to our showroom to try them out for free to decide which ones work best for you. Our paraoptometric staff is trained to demonstrate the use of some of these devices. They range all the way from a simple hand magnifier to a closed circuit TV system.
In addition, new treatment is available for people with macular degeneration which includes telescopic and microscopic lenses.

Vision Arts Eyecare Center specializes in low-vision diagnosis and the prescription of low-vision aids. The equipment ranges from lightweight, eyeglass-type magnifiers to digital magnifiers that work with your television set to enlarge words and pictures. Most vision deficiencies can be improved through low-vision aids.
Magnifying vision aids make things easier to see by making them bigger, bolder and brighter. Low-vision aids can help you regain many of you normal daily activities when ordinary eyeglasses, contact lenses or surgery no longer provide effective vision. Low vision often affects the elderly, and is caused by condition like age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and retinitis pigmentosa.
