Dr. Robert Greenberg

 

Dr. Robert Greenberg was born July 13, 1924 in Tallahassee, FL. He graduated from Leon High School, Tallahassee, FL in 1941. He also attended University of Florida from 1941 to 1943 and Florida State University in 1946 and 1947. He took an accelerated course at Southern College of Optometry in 1947 through 1950 for his Optometry Doctorate degree.

 

In 1951, Dr. Greenberg started his private practice in Tallahassee. He is a past president of the North West Florida Optometric Society and of the Florida Optometric Association. Dr. Greenberg is a lifetime member of the American Optometric Association and American Optometric Foundation. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is the founding member of the Florida Vision Service Program. Dr. Greenberg has also served in the Lions Club, Rotary Club, and Jaycees; in which he received Outstanding Young Man of the Year Award. He has also previously been a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a Past President of Toastmasters, District Commissioner of Boy Scouts of America, Tiger Bay Club, and Torch Club. He was a long time member of the Medical Advisory Committee to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, a consultant to Florida Highway Patrol, and a member of the City of Tallahassee Council on Human Relations. He is also a Supreme Court Certified County Court Mediator and is a volunteer Ombudsman for the Department of Elderly Affairs. He served his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserve between 1943-1946.

 

He was married to Harriet Baker Greenberg and has five children. Dr. Greenberg is currently semi-retired practicing two days per week in association with Dr. Walker at Vision Arts.

Dr. Edward K. WalkerDr. Edward K. Walker 

 

Dr. Edward Walker was born in South Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree at The University of Florida, and his Doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He began his practice in Tallahassee in March of 1950, and in 1987 opened a branch office in Perry, Florida. Dr. Walker is a board certified Optometric Physician.

 

Dr. Walker has served as President of the Florida Optometric Association, Northwest Florida Optometric Association, Tallahassee Kiwanis Club, Tallahassee United Way, Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and the Florida State Board of Optometry (where he served for 23 years). Dr. Walker received the "Edward K. Walker, Optometrist of the Decade" Award in 1980, and also the Florida Optometric Association's "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2000. For eight years he served as a member & vice chair of Southern College of Optometry Board of Trustees. He received an honorary degree of Doctor of Ocular Science from Southern College of Optometry. The Admittance Committee of the American Academy of Optometry serves to determine the competence of those who apply for Fellowship in the Academy. For his ten years of service as chairman of the Admittance Committee, he was awarded the Eminent Service Award. Dr. Walker is a Master Mason and received an award "For many years of Leadership and Dedication in promotion of the principals of Masonry and the Order of DeMolay". In 1995, he was inducted into the Florida DeMolay Hall of Fame.

 

He is a Christian and serves as a deacon for the East Hill Baptist Church. He is married to Dr. Judith Clay Walker, a Pediatric Optometrist, and has three children. Dr. Walker specializes in vision care for the entire family and focuses on low vision care for patients with impaired vision. He prescribes contact lenses, diagnoses and treats diseases of the eye, and also enjoys co-managing patients with eye surgeons. He loves the general practice of optometry, including primary care.
